EGLISE SAINT MICHEL

This church was mentioned first in 1229 and probably built during the XIth century with a semi-circular apse decorated with blind arcatures.
The Aspres' shale is the main material used to built this church. The nave is vaulted with 3 arcs. A first extension is dated of the XIVth century with a vaulted chapel building on the northern face. In the XVIIth century, a new chapel is built. Several extensions appeared during the XVIIIth century. The bell-tower is also raised. Inside this church : a Cadireta (XVIIIth century procession chair), the Virgin and the Child (XIVth century), only piece of art from the medieval period. The church of Saint-Michel-de-Llotes houses several retables of the XVIIIth and XIXth centuries. You can also find a pink marble stoup (XVIIIth century).
